The ACT Twelve Week Challenge: Maximizing the Free ACT Resources and Fee Waiver Program

Facilitated by Jessica Slater, CSCA Governing Board Member, this workshop will introduce you to the unique ACT Twelve Week Challenge in which you will learn ways to maximize ACT's free resources and fee waiver program. ACT's Account Executive in Client Relations, Greg Napierala, will review the content and approach of each week: “The 12 week Challenge”

1.      Weeks 1-2 (September 16th-27th ) Collaborate with your school’s counseling team to order 100 ACT fee waivers for the 12/14 National ACT Test Date (See ordering instructions and fee waiver eligibility requirements)

2.      Weeks 1-2 (September 16th-27th ) Collaborate with your school’s counseling team to order 100 PreACT test booklets (See PreACT ordering instructions).

3.      Weeks 3-8 (September 30th-November 15th) 100 students take the PreACT in October/early November (Total fee for 100 students would be $1450. PreACT can be delivered any day/any time).

4.      PreACT results come back to you and the schools in about 10-15 days from submitting answer sheets to ACT to be scored. (INCLUDIND NON-COGNITIVE REPORTING FROM THE CAREER INTEREST INVENTORY)

5.      Weeks 5-10 (October 11th-November 29th) Students receive instructions on how to enter their scores into ACT Academy for a customized prep plan (See the 3 minute ACT Academy Video about inputting PreACT results into the free ACT Academy)

6.      Weeks 5-10 (October 11th – November 29th) Meeting to examine the data – Facilitated by Greg N. from ACT with you and anyone from your school team.

7.      Your 100 students take the ACT on 12/12/20 Saturday National Test Day (For students who do not qualify for the fee waiver (if any), an alternative option for schools to consider the ACT National Pre-billed Voucher.)

8.     (January-April) Collaborate to discuss strategies to help students explore “next steps” once they receive their ACT results.
