Current issues school counselors are facing in their schools will be addressed and connected to ways that CSCA might be able to provide support. Topics of future roundtable events will grow out of this discussion and provide an avenue for collaboration and sharing of best practices across school districts.
9:30-11:30AM ASCA Model, Virginia DeLong
This session will address the importance of using data to drive school counseling program development, implementation and evaluation.

12:30-2:00PM "Making DATA Work,” Virginia DeLong
Part Two: Data Collection, Program Evaluation and Presenting to Stakeholders
Virginia DeLong will provide step-by-step implementation strategies to assist school counselors to build their skills and connect to resources. School counselors will be able to develop program goals, collect and analyze data and share their findings with key stakeholders. Laura Stabile and Helene Morneau will provide instruction on how to use internet tools such as EdSight and Google Forms to gather data.
There will be a brief review of a PowerPoint put together by CSCA'S Government Relations Committee to help guide school counselors when presenting to their Boards of Education about the importance of our role in schools.
2:00-3:30PM School Counselor Evaluations, Sonia Dinnall
Counselors will write SMART goals utilizing the day’s learning and identify Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) and measureable Indicator(s) of Academic Growth and Development (IAGD). Sonia will facilitate a discussion of best practices for program delivery. Counselors will have the opportunity to outline the steps and approach they plan to take in order to make progress towards, and ultimately achieve, their SLOs. We can learn so much from one another and save time by sharing strategies for success!
Participants may want to bring their own laptop/Chromebook/etc. The resources below will be used in this professional learning. Please bring your copy if you already have one. They will also be available for purchase (cash or check accepted).
