This session will address the importance of using data to drive school counseling program development, implementation and evaluation.

12:30-2:00PM   "Making DATA Work,” Virginia DeLong

Part Two: Data Collection, Program Evaluation and Presenting to Stakeholders

Virginia DeLong will provide step-by-step implementation strategies to assist school counselors to build their skills and connect to resources.  School counselors will be able to develop program goals, collect and analyze data and share their findings with key stakeholders.  Laura Stabile and Helene Morneau will provide instruction on how to use internet tools such as EdSight and Google Forms to gather data.

There will be a brief review of a PowerPoint put together by CSCA'S Government Relations Committee to help guide school counselors when presenting to their Boards of Education about the importance of our role in schools.

2:00-3:30PM     School Counselor Evaluations, Sonia Dinnall

Counselors will write SMART goals utilizing the day’s learning and identify Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) and measureable Indicator(s) of Academic Growth and Development (IAGD).  Sonia will facilitate a discussion of best practices for program delivery.  Counselors will have the opportunity to outline the steps and approach they plan to take in order to make progress towards, and ultimately achieve, their SLOs.  We can learn so much from one another and save time by sharing strategies for success!
