This workshop is intended to help School Counselors define STEM education. We will introduce current data that demonstrates the opportunities in STEM, and discuss the skills gap in hopes to make students aware of the significant, lucrative career pathways available to them after high school. There will also be an emphasis on the importance of business and industry partnerships in building academic-career relevance in the classroom. Participants will also be given the opportunity to share the career lessons they are using and use a problem-solving activity and small group discussion to generate more fun, implementable strategies to take back to their schools.
